Summer Camps at The Maker Farm

Summer Camps 2020 at The Maker Farm

The Maker Farm hosts a Massachusetts-certified summer camp. Create, grow and celebrate this summer at The Maker Farm’s summer camps at TWO locations in Westford (The Maker Farm at Meadowbrook) and Pepperell (The Maker Farm at Bancroft). There’s something for every child – from pony camps to theater in the garden and from arts & crafts classes for Juniors and Advanced makers. Each day, camps kick off with an All-Camp Jamboree including fun games and activities. We’re excited to offer so much more to nourish your child’s imagination and spirit!

2020 Logistics & Policies

This year, we have BIG changes! We bought our own farm in Pepperell, Massachusetts. It is located 15 minutes away from our Westford location on a quiet street right off of Rt 119 (just past the Groton line) and Rt 113. It is a large equine facility with a state-of-the art indoor arena so horse camps will never be rained out again! Plus, two outdoor arenas, a 28-stall barn with a barn lounge, a Crafting Cottage and Camp House – all dedicated to animals and the arts! Plus, of course, big farm fields, gardens and play areas. We also have a pool which will be utilized by campers on hot days. We will have a lifeguard on duty at all times and will follow all pool protocol for MA-based certified camps. It is also fenced in and has a large shallow end. We will strictly limit the number of campers allowed in the pool area, and waivers will be signed by parents. If you do not want your child to play in the pool, no worries! They have many other play alternatives for hot days – like our unicorn sprinkler!

BUS INFO

Is Pepperell too far? Yes, we bought a mini-bus! For just $40 per week, we are happy to drive your child to and from Pepperell with pick-up and drop-off at our Westford location. Bus drivers will be fully CORI-ed and will have excellent driving history. We will have three pick-up and drop-off times for your convenience: 7:30, 8:10 and 8:55 am for pick-up and 3:15, 4:30 and 6 pm for drop-off to Westford. The bus fee is a flat rate for the week; seats cannot be reserved by the day. You will have the chance to request the bus when ordering. In the spring, we will review requests on a first come/first serve basis and be in touch about specific bus times.

ABOUT OUR CAMPS

We offer both process-based camps and product-based camps. Please read descriptions with care when signing up your child. If you know your child wants to unwind this summer, we have camps which focus on play, animals, and fun crafts. If you want your child to learn a new skill or hone a talent they already possess, we have art, sewing, theater, animal, and art camps which focus on a final, polished product.

RESERVING CAMP SPOTS

  • Our camp limits will not be extended. Once a camp is full, we will not be able to add any more children to that camp. A waitlist will be kept. Please sign-up right away for the camps your child would like to join. This is the best way to ensure your spot in popular camps.
  • Camp spots will be held NO LONGER THAN TWO WEEKS without a non-refundable $50 camp deposit per child per camp. No exceptions.
  • Your final camp payment is due no later than July 1, 2020. In the spring, you will receive a PayPal invoice for your child’s camp fee remainder. Camps cancelled after July 1 will receive only partial reimbursement. Camps cancelled with only a week’s notice or less will not be refunded.

FOOD & DRINK

Campers are asked to bring a labeled water bottle, a snack, and lunch. All items must be nut-free as we welcome many campers with food allergies. All adult staff are trained to use Epi-pens, are CORIed, and have first-aid and CPR training.

DROP-OFF, PICK-UP & EXTENDED DAY

  • For drop-off and pick-up at our Westford location, please pull up to the large red barn as all camps will be hosted in our stable and barn art classroom.
  • For drop-off and pick-up at our Pepperell location, our loop system is beloved of the busy parent! Simply enter our loop, your child will join our staff in our yard at drop-off or be placed in your car at pick-up and continue to Emily Piper to sign-in or out. A camp counselor will walk your child to your car, unless you would like to stay and enjoy the farm for a few minutes after camp. In this case, we ask you to park in our general parking area.

A written note will be required for your child to go home with anyone not listed on your pick-up list, and ID will be required.

Our extended care program is from 7:45 am-6:00 pm each day. You do not have to sign-up in advance. It is available every day at each location. We will log each child’s extended care hours. Extended care is beloved of our campers who enjoy farm life and is well-staffed. Charges are $8 per hour for one child or $10 per hour per family. This will be invoiced at the end of the summer season.
