Summer Camps 2021 at The Maker Farm

Create, grow and celebrate this summer at The Maker Farm’s summer camps. We’re excited to offer so much more to nourish your child’s imagination and spirit!

The Maker Farm at Bancroft and The Fitzpatrick Collaborative

TWO Pepperell locations! In order to maintain COVID protocols, we have kept our camps small but numerous this year. We are hosting camps at The Maker Farm on Bancroft St (our colonial horse farm) AND we are bringing our Maker magic to The Fitzpatrick Collaborative which is a large former school building in the historic district of downtown Pepperell. It’s numerous large classrooms as well as spacious backyard and playground (in which we are installing a barnyard and gardens!) allow for safe, socially-distanced small groups. The locations are only 5 minutes apart! We are excited for The Maker Farm’s partnership with The Fitzpatrick Collaborative. And, just in case you are worried about camp without animals, do not fear! We are bringing animals daily to The Fitz- our mini horses will love all of the grassy lawn!

This year, we have a new online registration system which allows for easy browsing within grade and age levels and creates a household account which you can access at any time to check your balance, your camps and to enter important family and medical information.

We love our new system, however, it does not provide an overview of our Summer Camp offerings on one page. Therefore, we are offering it here! Once you enter the CampBrain system, you will be able to find more detailed descriptions and fees for the camps for which your child(ren) is/are eligible.

Camp 2021 FAQ's

Is there a bus from Westford?

Not yet. Due to COVID, we are playing it SUPER DUPER safe!!! If we are able, we will try to offer a full size school bus from a Westford location such as the Starbucks plaza. We should know by May 1. All depends on the vaccine rollout!

If camps are at your farm and at the Fitz, are the Fitz camps still Maker-style and staffed?

Yes, yes and yes and then YES some more. Our staff, our twinkly lights, and even a barnyard and
gardens!!! Both camp locations are awesome. We love the Fitz- and love that it is striving to
become a family community center and arts space. We are helping it grow, and it is helping us
to run super safe camps with separate classrooms and TONS of indoor and outdoor space. Plus,
it has not been in use for most of the year, so we are coming into a very COVID-free zone.

If we decide we are too nervous to send our kids to camp, can we use our credit towards other Maker Farm activities?

YEP. Always. And, credits will never expire. We are always flexible. The
World is tough enough with too many restrictions.

Will kids wear masks?

We will require campers and staff to do whatever is required by our State
and by the CDC as of June/July. So, if we had camp now, campers would always wear their
masks.

How much time will be spent outside?

AS MUCH AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. And, our indoor spaces are large and will not be crowded. We have room! Camps are all 8 in number right now. We may be able to go up to 10. But, that is as high as we will go for this summer. When outdoors, we will often be in larger groups, but will social distance and have masks. Our picnic blankets worked great last year!

Where will YOU be, Miss Emily?

I will be at The Fitz as the larger camps are there. But our beloved staff will be here at the Farm as well as a designated camp director. And, I am only 5 minutes away.

If I make a mistake registering, can you fix it?

Yes!!! Just email me with your desired camps vs. the error, and I can repair it.

I have a credit. How do I use it?

Easy. Just check the I HAVE A CREDIT payment option. You will be billed later.

Why no Theater or Beauty Barn Camps?

We are trying to run camps in which social distancing and mask-wearing work well. We hope to host Theater and Beauty Barn in 2022!

Where is the CIT option?

We are not opening a new CIT option at the time in order to maintain smaller camp numbers.

I thought you were going to expand this year to other towns. Why didn’t you?

We are playing it safe this year. Due to the pandemic, we are staying close to home. If you know of a great location for the future, please share it!

Can I put my kiddos in camps at two different locations?

YES! Our Pepperell locations are 5 minutes apart with easy access to Rt 119 and 113. And, there is a Dunkin drive-through! So, drop off, get your coffee and head home or to work.

We loved the Westford location. Why did you move?

We rented the Westford farm . We BOUGHT our Bancroft Farm, and it is our dream farm complete with huge fields, a large indoor arena, two outdoor arenas, great camp spaces and most importantly, awesome drainage- NO MUD! Our staff and horses love it here.
