We are looking forward to a fun and rewarding Summer 2020 at The Maker Farm at Meadowbrook in Westford and our “new” old farm, The Maker Farm at Bancroft in Pepperell! Our Counselor-in-training program is designed for your preteen or teen to have an unplugged, old-fashioned summer assisting in camps, farm chores, gardening projects and animal care. This program is staffed with its own coordinators and team leaders to help make your child’s summer a great learning experience. Westford/Meadowbrook Maker Farm camps will be two small animal and art-based camps for grades K-5. All K-8 horse, film, claymation, sewing, additional art and theater camps will be at our Bancroft location in Pepperell.
WORRIED ABOUT TRANSIT TO PEPPERELL? For just $40 per week, we are happy to drive your child to and from Pepperell with pick-up and drop-off at our Westford location. Bus drivers will be fully CORI-ed and will have excellent driving history. We will have three pick-up and drop-off times for your convenience: 7:30, 8:10 and 8:55 am for pick-up and 3:15, 4:30 and 6 pm for drop-off to Westford. The bus fee is a flat rate for the week; seats cannot be reserved by the day. Please email us to let us know interest.
Although we would love to hire all of the kids when they are 16, we simply do not have the staffing needs. However, starting in 2020, we will keep a database of our CITS and will provide reference letters for CIT alums to apply for babysitting and other summer jobs. We also will graduate at least one CIT each year to become paid summer staff here at The Maker Farm for the following summer, once the age requirement of 16 has been met.
Counselors-in-Training are required to join us for the first week of camp for training. This is July 6-10. This is mandatory. No exceptions. For the following weeks of camp, CITs may come on a flexible basis. They can come for the summer, partial weeks, and even partial days.
Family & friend discount does not apply to the CIT program.
