A Heart for Dancer . . .

The Story behind Hearts for Dancer

Just before Valentine’s Day in 2025, we rescued a senior Amish cart horse in need from an auction house in Pennsylvania. He arrived thin, with creaky joints and very large road shoes with overgrown feet. Within a few months, our sweet old boy was sleek and running around his field with his best pal, Monty. He was supposed to be retired, but his love of children led him to an easy life of pony rides at Storytime and birthday parties. He has a huge, loving personality and a new lease on life thanks to good care, joint supplements and a ton of affection from the families on the Farm. Every year we will honor him with Hearts for Dancer during the Valentines Day Season. All funds from the hearts will go toward the care of our rescue animals here at The Maker Farm. Below is his auction photo. I cannot believe our sweet Dancer is the same horse!
